Jelly: Hi Papa… you know Dad and Uncle Gum… something is going on with them…
Jam: Who are you talking to Jelly?
Jelly: Papa of course!
Jam: That again? You’re still “seeing” him?
Jelly: Hi Papa… you know Dad and Uncle Gum… something is going on with them…
Jam: Who are you talking to Jelly?
Jelly: Papa of course!
Jam: That again? You’re still “seeing” him?
Bubblegum: I’d like that…
Bubblegum: It wasn’t the right time, neither of us were ready to discuss that…
Wisteria: And yet, even after all this time has passed you stayed single.
Bubblegum: Well… there’s only one person I want.
Wisteria: I’m sorry I never noticed before. All that help you gave me when I first came here. I know it couldn’t have been easy seeing me with your brother…
I don’t know what I would have done if I loved someone so deeply and saw them with another man… it would probably crush me. It’s no wonder Bubblegum left. Though he stayed after talking with us again. For the boys… maybe for me. I don’t know… You wanted this right Mac? Am I ready for that?
Wisteria: I don’t know how long it’ll take for me to get used to it… but if you’re willing… I’d like to try this..
Jelly: Ha! Take that!
Jam: Aww… come on Jelly, how’d you get so good at this!?
Wisteria: Thanks… it’s getting harder to do this alone as they get older. I can’t wait until they’re teenagers! Ha.
Bubblegum: You know you don’t have to do it alone. I’ll still be here to give you a hand when you need it.
Wisteria: Thanks Gum… we… we haven’t talked much about what Macaron’s letter said…
Bubblegum: Jam, don’t bother your father with this right now okay? Why don’t you go play with those new voidcritter packs I got you.
Jam: Okay fine…
Jelly: Is he talking about that again? Kids at school were saying that now that papa is gone we’re going to end up homeless. He just wants to prove they’re liars.
Jam: Jelly! Don’t tell him that!
Wisteria: Jam, tell me the truth.
Jam: There’s this new gaming system out, and everyone at school has one! Can we get one please!?
Wisteria: We can’t really afford that right now kiddo. My paintings haven’t really… well…
Jam: But Uncle just got a job right? He can help!
Wisteria: It’s not far to ask him that Jam…
Years went by before we felt like maybe we would be okay… birthdays past and each year I would give the boys a letter from Macaron. It was little cards, with memories he had of them. Even if he only shared a short time with them both, it seemed like he had so many to share.
I still hadn’t talked more to Bubblegum about his feelings for me. I wanted to tell him I did too, but I was still hurting, still am. How can I move on when the one I wanted is gone? But the boys do love him…
