It seemed to end well. When they came back inside it was still morose, but Bubblegum agreed to stay for a while. He said he wouldn’t promise it would last but he would try. I asked him again if he could explain what was really going on, but he said there wouldn’t ever be a good time to tell me. But at least he’s back in my life again, and now Jam can get to know his uncle.

Bubblegum: No Mac I wouldn’t, because brothers don’t do that! Sometimes I just… can’t you see why I left?

Macaron: Gum… don’t cry… look I’m sorry. It was really stupid of me. I was so excited about getting that job, I thought I was invincible. Just… please don’t take it out on Teri. He really wants you to be a part of Jam’s life. Hate me if you want, just not him.

Bubblegum: But you knew how I felt about him Mac… yet you went right over me and told him you liked him, what the hell?

Macaron: I know! That was… that was a bad move okay, but I couldn’t help it. He’s just so… Can you honestly tell me you wouldn’t do the same thing?

It got later, and the talking just went on and on. Eventually they stepped outside. This small house… well sound travels. I stayed inside to make sure Jam got to bed properly. But I won’t lie that I did peak out there every few minutes to see how it was going. It seemed pretty one sided, with Macaron doing most of the talking.
