Bubblegum: But you knew how I felt about him Mac… yet you went right over me and told him you liked him, what the hell?
Macaron: I know! That was… that was a bad move okay, but I couldn’t help it. He’s just so… Can you honestly tell me you wouldn’t do the same thing?
It got later, and the talking just went on and on. Eventually they stepped outside. This small house… well sound travels. I stayed inside to make sure Jam got to bed properly. But I won’t lie that I did peak out there every few minutes to see how it was going. It seemed pretty one sided, with Macaron doing most of the talking.
Well we talked… or argued really. I got the feeling he wasn’t telling me everything. And Macaron didn’t seem inclined to explain much either. Even after all that I still don’t understand much of why Bubblegum stopped coming around. But I really wanted that to change. He did help me through a lot when I had just moved here.
Wisteria: You could stay you know… we have an extra bed, and I know Jam would love to get to know his uncle…
Wisteria: Gum wait! Can you at least tell me why… I would really like for you to be a part of our lives. I want Jam to have a big family, and I’d like for you to be included in that.
Bubblegum: You really don’t know? Even if Macaron didn’t tell you anything, you had to have figure it out…
Wisteria: I’m confused? Tell me what? Figure out what? Let’s just… sit and talk this out like a family, okay? Jam, why don’t you go play with your new toys while your daddies talk to Uncle Gum okay?
Jam: Hee, Gum!
Bubblegum: Uh… hi Jam? Sigh, no I’m sorry I can’t do this.
Bubblegum: I’m here despite my better judgement, what did you– Oh…
Macaron: Jam… this is your uncle, Bubblegum.
After I got the news, Macaron went on to tell Bubblegum. It was going to be obvious now that Ronnie was on leave from work. You can’t be a detective and be pregnant at the same time right? I don’t know how the conversation went, but after that I started seeing Bubblegum less and less. I don’t know why, and Macaron claims he doesn’t either.
Bubblegum: You knew how I felt about him!
Macaron: Well it isn’t MY fault he doesn’t feel the same way for you!
Bubblegum: I tried to keep my mouth shut, to be happy for you two but… I was around the most when he needed it, all you cared about was your job! I don’t even want to talk to you right now.
Macaron: You’re acting like a child Gum Gum. Come on, at the end of the day you’re always my brother.
Bubblegum: And right now you lost your friend.
I’d like to say I took it slowly, like you’re suppose to with new relationships, but after a couple of weeks with him, I couldn’t see a future without him in it. He became my everything pretty quickly, and there was only one way to make sure that future I imagined came true.
Wisteria: Hey mom.
[ Teri!? Oh my! Daisy come quick it’s Teri! ]
So I talked to them, it was a lot easier after Bubblegum said he’d stay while I did. He gave me the courage to say everything that needed to be said. At first it happened just like I thought it would. I told them where I was staying and they said they were coming to get me, but the more that I talked, the more they decided to let me stay. Momma Daisy was more understanding than momma lily, but she came around.
They really did understand, just like Bubblegum said they would. I didn’t think that was possible, they never wanted me to leave. I honestly thought I would be living with them all my life. I guess family can surprise you sometimes.
